Ralph Hardy focuses his practice in the areas of estate planning and probate, commercial real estate and corporate, banking and business law. He has practiced law in Elgin since 1970 and at the firm's branch office in Huntley since 1973.
Mr. Hardy's civic involvement has included serving on the Elgin YMCA Board of Directors for over 30 years, including two years as Chairman of the Board (1995-1997), as well as the boards of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, the Fox Valley Music Association and the Elgin Jaycees. He is currently general counsel to the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce and is legal counsel for the Girl Scouts-Sybaquay Council.
At the present time, Mr. Hardy is Chairman of the EFS Bank Huntley Advisory Board, and he previously served as a director of the Harris Bank Huntley, Waterman State Bank and the State Bank of Paw Paw. He also has conducted numerous seminars before various groups on estate planning and real estate topics.
A native of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Mr. Hardy holds a B.A. degree in history from Beloit College (1965) and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1968 from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was an Associate Editor of the Law Quarterly. Following graduation from law school, Mr. Hardy served two years as law clerk to Judge Henry S. Wise in the Federal District Court in Danville, Illinois before moving to Elgin in 1970 to commence his career in private practice. He currently resides in Huntley, Illinois and maintains regular office hours at both the Elgin and Huntley offices.
